Dental Examination
Our routine dental examinations are designed to check the overall health of your teeth, gums and mouth and identify any need for treatment.
We check your teeth for signs of cavities and cracks, taking care to assess the quality of any fillings or restorations to ensure they’re still in good order. We assess the health of your gums to identify any signs of disease. We also look out for plaque, which is a hard build-up that can do significant damage to the surface of the teeth if left unchecked.
Dental examinations are also an opportunity to check the lips, tongue and cheeks and the roof and floor of the mouth. Early signs of oral cancer can be identified by these checks which is why it’s so important to have routine dental exams.
Your exam is a brilliant opportunity for you to bring up any problems you have had with your teeth that aren’t urgent but need looking into. For example, if you’ve experienced any new discomfort or sensitivity, or noticed any new stains or marks on your teeth, be sure to mention this at your appointment. You can also chat with us about the overall appearance of your smile and we can discuss the treatments we have available that might help to make you feel more confident.
